WASILLA, Alaska (AP) – Two Wasilla residents have been charged with felonies in a suspected carjacking.

Alaska State Troopers say 40-year-old Jason Freeland and 26-year-old Damali Clements were arrested Thursday on charges of robbery, kidnapping, assault and theft.

They were scheduled for arraignment Friday. Online court documents did not list their attorneys.

Troopers took a call Thursday night from a man who said he had been forced at gunpoint to start a vehicle and then was struck in the head with a pistol.

The man said he was forced into a second vehicle but was later able to escape.

Troopers contacted the suspects at a home and recovered a stolen vehicle.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly said both suspects were men.
