Alaska Baseball League delays 2020 play decision

THE ALASKA BASEBALL LEAGUE FRIDAY VOTED TO DELAY A DECISION ON THE SUMMER SEASON BY ANOTHER TWO WEEKS, HOPING TO GAIN MORE CLARITY FROM STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS ON WHAT WILL BE ACCEPTABLE WAYS OF GOING ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF BASEBALL IN THE 49TH STATE. THE GLACIER PILOTS, BUCS, MINERS AND CHINOOKS ARE THE FOUR TEAMS CONSIDERING PLAY THIS SUMMER, WITH THE OILERS AND GOLDPANNERS ALREADY DECLINING THEIR OPTIONS. A NUMBER OF ISSUES MUST BE SOLVED…INCLUDING BALLPARK CLEANING AND DISINFECTING, PLAYER QUARENTINES, THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ALLOWED TO GATHER IN A GROUP AND THE 6 FOOT SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES. THE ABL WILL DECIDE ITS 2020 FATE MAY 15TH.
