SEEMS LIKE WHENEVER FORMER UAA TRACK AND FIELD STAR CAROLINE KURGAT RACES THESE DAYS, RECORDS FALL. SHE DID IT AGAIN SATURDAY, BECOMING THE FIRST WOMAN EVER TO WIN AN OVERALL TITLE AT THE MAYOR’S MARATHON AND HALF-MARATHON. KURGAT’S TIME OF 1:13:51 IN THE HALF BEAT THE PRIOR WOMEN’S RECORD, HELD BY KRISTI WAYTHOMAS, BY FIVE MINUTES AS SHE CROSSED THE FINISH LINE JUST AHEAD OF MEN’S WINNER FELIX KEMBOI FOR THE OVERALL TITLE.

PAUL ROTTICH BECAME A FOUR-TIME WINNER OF THE MEN’S MARATHON, MARINE DUSSER-BJORNSEN WON THE WOMEN’S MARATHON TITLE. 5K WINNERS WERE JOHN MUSHETT AND HALLIDIE PHILLIPS.
