What a weekend for runners!

ONCE AGAIN, IT’S ALLIE! ALLIE OSTRANDER BECAME THE FIRST WOMAN EVER TO THREE-PEAT THE NCAA DIVISION ONE STEEPLECHASE AS SHE RAN TO VICTORY SATURDAY AT THE NATIONAL MEET IN TEXAS. OSTRANDER’S WINNING TIME OF 9:37:73 WAS A PERSONAL BEST AND ALSO A MYERS STADIUM RECORD…AMAZING, AS THE RACE WAS HELD IN 98 DEGREE HEAT IN AUSTIN. OSTRANDER ALSO RAN IN THE 5K FINAL 90 MINUTES AFTER HER STEEPLECHASE, AND FINISHED 16TH.

AT THE ALASKA RUN FOR WOMEN SATURDAY, IT WAS A TIGHT FINISH AS ANNA DALTON HELD OFF ROSIE BRENNAN BY TWO SECONDS FOR THE WIN. KIKKAN RANDALL WAS THIRD. DALTON, BRENNAN AND RANDALL WERE THE ONLY THREE WOMEN TO CRACK 30 MINUTES OUT OF THE ALMOST 12 HUNDRED IN THE RACE. LIA SLEMONS AND HEATHER EDIC ROUNDED OUT THE TOP FIVE. MORE THAN 45 HUNDRED WOMEN AND GIRLS PARTICIPATED IN THE EVENT…A FUNDRAISER FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS AND RESEARCH.
