KAYLA MCGLATHERY AND EVE STEPHENS EACH HAD 11 KILLS, AND ELLEN FLOYD DISHED 33 ASSISTS AS THE UAA VOLLEYBALL TEAM AUTHORED ANOTHER 3 SET VICTORY, THIS TIME BEATING NORTHWEST NAZARENE SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE ALASKA AIRLINES CENTER. IT WAS UAA’S THIRD STRAIGHT WIN, AND LEFT THE SEAWOLVES IN A SECOND PLACE TIE IN THE GREAT NORTHWEST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE. UAA NOW GOES ON THE ROAD FOR A PAIR OF GAMES AT CONCORDIA-PORTLAND AND WESTERN OREGON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.

THE EAST HIGH T-BIRDS CAPTURED THE COOK INLET CONFERENCE TITLE ON THE FINAL WEEKEND OF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. EAST FENDED OFF SERVICE 20-15 SATURDAY. OTHER NOTABLE WINNERS FROM THE WEEKEND INCLUDED CHUGIAK, COLONY, HOUSTON, PALMER, SOLDOTNA AND WEST. THE PLAYOFFS BEGIN THIS COMING WEEKEND.

AT THE ASAA-FIRST NATIONAL BANK STATE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BARTLETT SATURDAY, THE HAINES BOYS AND GIRLS RAN AWAY FROM THE COMPETITION IN DIVISION THREE, THE GRACE CHRISTIAN BOYS AND GIRLS TOOK DOWN ALL-COMERS IN DIVISION TWO, AND THE DIVISION ONE WINNERS WERE THE DIMOND BOYS AND SOUTH GIRLS.  WEST VALLEY SENIOR KENDALL KRAMER WON HER THIRD INDIVIDUAL TITLE.
