SATURDAY SAW THE LATEST EDITION OF THE GOVERNMENT PEAK CLIMB FEATURING TWO RACES…AN UP AND DOWN EXPANDED SIX MILER, AND AN UPHILL ONLY 2.8.

LARS ARNESON TOOK FIRST PLACE IN THE MEN’S DIVISION OF THE 6 MILER. HE TOURED THE COURSE IN 1 HOUR, NINE MINUTES AND 43 SECONDS, HOLDING OFF SECOND PLACE LYON KOPSACK AND THIRD PLACE BEN MARVIN.

ON THE WOMEN’S SIDE, CHRISTY MARVIN CROSSED THE FINISH LINE FIRST IN 1 HOUR, 21 MINUTES AND 34 SECONDS, FOLLOWED BY SHAUNA SEVERSON AND APRIL MCANLY.

TAKING FIRST PLACE IN THE MEN’S UPHILL 2.8 WAS MICHAEL CONNOLLY IN 50 MINUTES, 26 SECONDS. ROMAN GROSS WAS SECOND AND BARNEY GRIFFITH THIRD.

THE WOMEN’S 2.8 CHAMP WAS MEG INOKUMA IN 54 MINUTES, 51 SECONDS. FINISHING SECOND WAS NAJEEBY QUINN AND THIRD WENT TO DARCY DUGAN.

IN ALL, 70 MEN AND 32 WOMEN COMPETED IN THE TWO RACES.
