GOALTENDER AIDEN EFIRD STOPPED 15 SHOTS FOR THE WIN. DAEGEN LOVE OF CHUGIAK HAD 33 SAVES. SERVICE WILL PLAY TONIGHT AGAINST SOUTH AT 6:30 AT BEN BOEKE.

IN THE NIGHTCAP, GUNNAR SACKERSON SCORED IN OVERTIME TO GIVE THE EAGLE RIVER WOLVES A 2-1 WIN OVER WEST. GAVIN MCDONALD ALSO HAD A GOAL FOR EAGLE RIVER, AND MARTY TUMEY FOUND THE BACK OF THE NET FOR THE EAGLES. WOLVES GOALTENDER OLIN KELLEHER MADE 13 SAVES IN THE WIN, WHILE WEST GOALIE JASPER CARPENTER WAS BUSY WITH 39 SAVES. EAGLE RIVER ADVANCES TO PLAY NUMBER ONE SEED DIMOND TOMORROW NIGHT AT 6:30 AT BEN BOEKE.

THE THIRD PLACE GAME IS FRIDAY AT 6:30 AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IS SATURDAY NIGHT AT 6:30 AT BEN BOEKE.

 

 

THE ALASKA SPORTS HALL OF FAME HANDED OUT YOUTH DIRECTORS AWARDS YESTERDAY FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES OVER THE PAST YEAR. THE GIRLS PRIDE OF ALASKA AWARD WENT TO SEWARD SWIMMER LYDIA JACOBY, THE BOYS WINNER WAS ACS DISTANCE RUNNER TRISTIAN MERCHANT. THE TRAJAN LANGDON SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WAS GIVEN TO THE WEST HIGH BASEBALL TEAM.
