AFTER A TUMULTUOUS SEASON LAST FALL, THE DIMOND HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PROGRAM HAS A NEW COACH…38 YEAR OLD STEVE ODOM WILL TAKE THE REIGNS, HOPING TO NORMALIZE A PROGRAM THAT WAS ROCKED BY SEXUAL ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS AND THE FIRING OF THREE COACHES LAST SEASON. ODOM WAS THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR AND LINEBACKERS COACH LAST SEASON, AND SAID HIS FAMILIARITY WITH THE SCHOOL AND THE PLAYERS WILL HELP IN THE TRANSITION TO HEAD MAN. ODOM IS THE THIRD HEAD COACH IN THE LAST YEAR, AND 7TH IN THE LAST 16 SEASONS SINCE LONGTIME COACH DUNCAN SHACKLEFORD RESIGNED. ODOM, A FORMER TEACHER AT DIMOND, IS NOT CURRENTLY TEACHING, BUT HOPES TO RETURN TO THE CLASSROOM THIS FALL.
