IN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FROM THE WEEKEND, JORDAN HOLLAND HAD SIX CATCHES FOR 133 YARDS AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS AS THE EAST THUNDERBIRDS EARNED A 20-13 WIN OVER SOUTH FRIDAY.

ALSO FRIDAY, BOOGIE SLOAN SCORED THREE TIMES FOR WEST AS THE EAGLES BEAT CHUGIAK 48-0.

SATURDAY, DIVISION 2 EAGLE RIVER BEAT THEIR SECOND STRAIGHT DIVISION ONE OPPONENT, KNOCKING OFF SERVICE 38-8.  SENIOR QUARTERBACK QUENTIN JACKSON II SCORED FIVE TOUCHDOWNS FOR THE WOLVES.

BARTLETT HAD A BIG GAME SATURDAY LED BY RUNNING BACK MICHAEL ELIAS WHO SCORED FOUR TIMES, AS THE GOLDEN BEARS DOWNED DIMOND 47-8.

IN OTHER GAMES, COLONY DEFEATED PALMER 27-7, WASILLA SHUT OUT HOUSTON 40-0, MONROE CATHOLIC UPENDEDE EIELSON AND WEST VALLEY BEAT NORTH POLE.

 

IN HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL, South edged East 7-6, and Dimond beat Bartlett 12-0.

 

 

ALEXANDER MAURER OF SERVICE AND EAGLE RIVER’S EMILY WALSH CLOCKED THE DAY’S FASTEST TIMES AT KINCAID PARK SATURDAY AS THREE HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY MEETS WERE HELD. THER WAS ONE DUAL MEET AND TWO-THREE TEAM MEETS. AROUND TWO HUNDRED ATHLETES COMPETED IN THE VARSITY, JV AND OPEN MEETS.
