East Finishes Undefeated, Service wins in season finale

THE EAST HIGH T-BIRDS LEFT NO DOUBT AS TO WHO THE BEST TEAM IN THE ANCHORAGE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS.

JORDAN HOLLAND CAUGHT FIVE PASSES FOR 99 YARDS AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS, ALL IN THE FIRST HALF, TO PROPEL THE T-BIRDS TO A 41-0 DISMANTLING OF BARTLETT ON THE TURF AT BETTYE DAVIS EAST ANCHORAGE HIGH SCHOOL SATURDAY.

DEUCE ZIMMERMAN ALSO CAUGHT TWO TOUCHDOWN PASSES, AND THE EAST DEFENSE HELD THE GOLDEN BEARS TO JUST 98 TOTAL YARDS. BARTLETT HAD AVERAGED OVER 300 PER GAME THIS SEASON.

THE T-BIRDS FINISH THE SEASON AT 7-0. BARTLETT ENDED UP 4-3.

 

FRIDAY, SERVICE USED AN EXPLOSIVE OFFENSE AND SMOTHERING DEFENSE TO DEFEAT CHUGIAK 28-13. THE MUSTANGS JUMPED TO A 13-0 LEAD, DUE IN PART TO KICKER JOSH ROLSTON, WHO TIED HIS STATE-RECORD WITH ANOTHER 56 YARD FIELD GOAL. HE ADDED A 45 YARDER LATER. THE SERVICE DEFENSE HAD 14 SACKS, AND THE OFFENSE SCORED 21 SECOND QUARTER POINTS ON THEIR WAY TO THE WIN.
