THE SOUTH ANCHORAGE FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM FINISHED AN UNDEFEATED REGULAR SEASON THURSDAY NIGHT, DOWNING BARTLETT 13-0 AND CLAIMING THE NUMBER ONE SEED FOR NEXT WEEK’S COOK INLET CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT. WEST IS THE NUMBER TWO SEED.

ALSO THURSDAY NIGHT, EAST UPENDED DIMOND 13-8 TO CLAIM THE NUMBER THREE SPOT WHILE THE LYNX WILL BE NUMBER 4. SERVICE LAST NIGHT SHUT OUT CHUGIAK 14-0 AT SERVICE. THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT STARTS MONDAY AT DIMOND AND WEST, CONTINUES WITH SEMIFINALS WEDNESDAY AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THURSDAY AT DIMOND HIGH SCHOOL.

 

IN TACKLE FOOTBALL, THE ANCHORAGE SCHOOL DISTRICT TOURNAMENT BEGINS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH WITH TWO GAMES.

WEST IS PLAYING AT 2:00 AT NUMBER ONE SEEDED EAST, AND ALSO AT 2, THE SOUTH WOLVERINES WILL HOST BARTLETT. THE WINNERS OF THOSE GAMES WILL PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH, WHILE THE LOSERS WILL PLAY FOR THIRD PLACE THE SAME DAY. ALSO THAT WEEKEND, CHUGIAK AND SOUTH, BOTH IDLE THIS WEEKEND, WILL PLAY FOR FIFTH PLACE.
