JASON LAMOUREAUX AND STEPHANIE ARNOLD TOOK FIRST PLACE IN THE 24TH ANNUAL HAMMERMAN TRIATHLON AND DUATHLON SATURDAY. AT THE BEAR PAW 5K SATURDAY, MICHAEL EARNHARDT SET THE PACE WITH A MEN’S WIN IN 16 MINUTES AND 54 SECONDS. HE WAS THREE SECONDS FASTER THAN SECOND PLACE DAVID VOLCY. ON THE WOMEN’S SIDE, HANNAH BOOHER TOURED THE COURSE IN 19 MINUTES FLAT, BEATING SECOND PLACE IDA BENNION BY 21 SECONDS.

 

THE ALASKA BASEBALL LEAGUE HOME RUN DERBY YESTERDAY WAS WON BY MAT-SU’S JUSTIN KIRBY. HE OUTDUELED THE BUC’S BLAKE PAUGH IN THE FINAL ROUND YESTERDAY AT MULCAHY STADIUM.
