A NUMBER 8 SEED BEAT A NUMBER ONE SEED YESTERDAY AT THE ASAA-FIRST NATIONAL BANK 3 AND 4-A STATE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT AT THE ALASKA AIRLINES CENTER.

IT HAPPENED IN BOYS CLASS 4-A, WHERE KETCHIKAN, THE NUMBER 8, UPENDED THE NUIMBER ONE SEEDED EAT HIGH T-BIRDS 60-58. OTHER BOYS CLASS 4-A WINNERS WERE SOLDOTNA, COLONY AND DIMOND.

IN CLASS 4-A GIRLS PLAY, ALISSA PILI SCORED 33 POINTS LEADING DIMOND TO A 66-43 WIN OVER KETCHIKAN. OTHER GIRLS CLASS 4-A WINNERS WERE SOLDOTNA, CHUGIAK AND BARTLETT.

IN CLASS 3-A, BOYS WINNERS WERE ANCHORAGE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, EIELSON, VALDEZ AND GRACE CHRISTIAN. GIRLS CLASS 3-A WINNERS WERE ANCHORAGE CHRISTIAN, KENAI CENTRAL, BARROW AND NIKISKI.

CONSOLATION PLAY HAPPENS IN BOTH CLASSES THIS MORNING, WITH CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET PLAY THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
