WITH MANY INDOOR SPORTS ON HIATUS BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC, FOLKS VENTURING OUTDOORS CONTINUE TO COMPETE AND GET THE HEADLINES.

CASE IN POINT, SUNDAY’S AMH ANCHORAGE CUP RACES. THEY BROUGHT OUT THE HIGH-END COMPETITORS WHO BLAZED THE TRAILS AT KINCAID PARK.

IN THE WOMEN’S 25K RACE, BECCA RORABAUGH HELD OFF HOLLY BROOKS AND ANNA DARNELL TO TAKE THE WIN. OVER ON THE MEN’S SIDE, FIRST PLACE WENT TO THOMAS O’HARRA. KAI MEYERS WAS SECOND AND TYLER KORNFIELD FINISHED THIRD.

IN THE WOMEN’S 15 K RACE, THE TOP SPOT WENT TO GARVEE TOBIN, FOLLOWED BY ANNIE GONZALEZ AND DARCY DUGAN. THE MEN’S 15K TITLE WENT TO ALEXANDER MAURER. FOLLOWING HIM INTO THE CHUTE WAS AARON POWER AND PORTER BLEI.

THE WOMEN’S 5K WINNER WAS MEREDITH SCHWARTZ. EMILY ERICKSON WAS SECOND AND PIPER SEARS THIRD. THE MEN’S 5K WAS WON BY COLE FLOWERS, FOLLOWED BY OSKAR FLORA AND JEVIN LIM.

THE RACE DAY WAS THE THIRD IN THE AMH ANCHORAGE CUP SERIES.
