Lydia Jacoby!!! Seward swimmer earns Olympic Gold in Tokyo!!!

EVERYONE IN ALASKA AND NOW THE UNITED STATES AND THE WORLD KNOWS WHO LYDIA JACOBY IS, AS THE 17 YEAR OLD FROM SEWARD CAPTURED A SWIMMING GOLD MEDAL AT THE TOKYO OLYMPICS LAST NIGHT.

JACOBY KICKED DOWN THE STRETCH IN THE 100 METER BREASTSTROKE TO EDGE OUT OLYMPIC RECORD-HOLDER TATYANA SHOENMAKER OF SOUTH AFRICA, AND TEAMMATE AND WORLD RECORD-HOLDER LILLY KING.

JACOBY IS THE FIRST ALASKAN TO SWIM IN THE OLYMPICS, AND FINISHED WITH A FLURRY AS SHE WAS IN THIRD PLACE HALFWAY THROUGH THE RACE.

JACOBY IS THE 15TH ALASKAN TO MEDAL IN AN OLYMPIC COMPETITION.
