JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) –
A review by the state Office of Special Prosecutions has determined that a Juneau police officer was legally justified when he shot a man in August. In a summary of the case, investigators concluded the state will not bring criminal charges against Officer Thomas McGrann. He was one of two officers who responded to a report of a physical disturbance on Aug. 4. The man who was shot faces assault charges. A message seeking comment was left for the man’s attorney Monday. The investigation involved the Juneau Police Department, state Department of Public Safety and the Seattle Police Department.
