DESCRIBED AS “OTHER-WORLDLY” AND “RIDICULOUS”, SCOTT PATTERSON BLEW AWAY THE COMPETITION AND THE MEN’S RECORD TIME IN SATURDAY’S CROW PASS CROSSING.

THE BACKCOUNTRY 22 MILE RUNNING RACE FROM GIRDWOOD TO EAGLE RIVER, FEATURING TREES, ROCKS, SNOW, CREEKS AND MORE, WAS RUN BY JUNEAU’S GEOFF ROES BACK IN 2010 IN 2 HOURS, 54 MINUTES AND 44 SECONDS. AFTER CHASING THAT RECORD FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, PATTERSON CAUGHT AND SURPASSED IT WITH A TIME OF 2 HOURS, 50 MINUTES AND 5 SECONDS.PATTERSON WAS ABOUT 17 MINUTES AHEAD OF SECOND-PLACE BEN MARVIN. LYON KOPSACK WAS THIRD.

THE WOMEN’S WINNER WAS CHRISTY MARVIN. SHE MADE THE JAUNT IN 3 HOURS, 32 MINUTES AND 34 SECONDS. MARVIN ALSO SET A NEW 40-45 AGE GROUP RECORD. KLAIRE RHOADS FINISHED SECOND, JENNIE BENDER WAS THIRD.

70 MEN AND 32 WOMEN FINISHED THE RACE SATURDAY.
