OVER 3400 RUNNERS AND WALKERS BRAVED THE CHILLY TEMPERATURES SATURDAY MORNING FOR THE 41ST ANNUAL HEART RUN, THE UNOFFICIAL START OF THE RUNNING SEASON IN ALASKA.

ON THE MEN’S SIDE, CHAD TRAMMEL GOT HIS FIRST EVER HEART RUN WIN IN 15 MINUTES, 38 SECONDS, EDGING JAKE MOE BY JUST 3 SECONDS. KENNETH BREWER WAS THIRD.

FOR THE WOMEN, DENALI STRABEL CAPTURED THE TOP SPOT IN 17 MINUTYES 39 SECONDS. JULIANNE DICKERSON WAS SECOND WHILE HALLIDIE PHILLIPS WAS THIRD. STRABEL’S WIN WAS ALSO HER FIRST AT THE HEART RUN.

MICHAEL BOURDUKOVSKY AND AUBREY VIRGIN WON THE MEN’S AND WOMEN’S TITLES FOR PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE A HISTORY OF HEART AILMENTS.
