UAA skiers shine at the NCAA Ski Championships in New Hampshire

9 ALL-AMERICANS AND A 4TH PLACE TEAM FINISH AT THE NCAA SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS. THAT’S THE TAKE-AWAY FOR UAA SKIING AS THE NATIONAL MEET CAME TO AN END SATURDAY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.

4 ALL-AMERICA PERFORMANCES FOR NORDIC SKIERS ASTRID STAVE, TUVA BYGRAVE, ESPEN PERSON AND MAGNUS NOROEY THURSDAY IN THE CLASSIC STYLE RACE. FOLLOWED FRIDAY BY A SIXTH PLACE FINISH AND ALL-AMERICA HONORS FOR DOWNHILLER REBECCA FIEGLE IN THE SLALOM. SATURDAY, STAVE EARNED ANOTHER ALL-AMERICA NOD AND A PODIUM WITH A SECOND-PLACE FINISH IN THE 15K FREESTYLE NORDIC RACE. BYGRAVE, NOROEY AND SIGURD ROENNING ALSO CAPTURED TOP-TEN FINISHES AND ALL-AMERICA STATUS, GIVING UAA 9 FOR THE FOUR-DAY MEET.

THE FOURTH-PLACE FINISH TIES THE 2009 TEAM FOR THE BEST UAA FINISH AT THE NCAAs. THE SEAWOLVES HAVE ALSO FINISHED IN FIFTH PLACE IN FOUR OTHER YEARS.
