UAA Volleyball has winning weekend; UAA track and field in Oregon

IT WAS A BUSY WEEKEND FOR UAA VOLLEYBALL AS THE SEAWOLVES IMPROVED TO 7-1 IN THE SPRING SEASON WITH WINS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

SATURDAY, AFTER HAVING THE OPENER OF A DOUBLEHEADER CANCELLED BECAUSE OF COVID PROTOCOLS, UAA WON THE SECOND SCHEDULED MATCH OVER WESTERN OREGON 3 GAMES TO NONE AT ELLENSBURG. JUNIOR EVE STEPHENS HAD 13 KILLS FOR THE SEAWOLVES.

YESTERDAY, UAA PLAYED A DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST CENTRAL WASHINGTON AND TOOK BOTH MATCHES. THE SEAWOLVES DISPATCHED THE WILDCATS 3-1 IN THE FIRST MATCH BEHIND STEPHEN’S 22 KILLS AND ELLEN FLOYD’S 44 ASSISTS. UAA WON THE SECOND MATCH 3-1 AS STEPHENS AGAIN PACED THE SEAWOLVES WITH 21 KILLS.

 

 

UAA TRACK AND FIELD WAS BUSY AS WELL, COMPETING AT THE JOHN KNIGHT TWILIGHT IN MONMOUTH, OREGON. ELENA CANO HAD FOUR PODIUM FINISHES AND JOSHUA WAGNER HAD THREE TO LEAD THE SEAWOLVES, WHO HAD SEVEN WINS IN ALL ON THE WEEKEND.

THE EAGLE RIVER WOLVES SCORED A POWER PLAY GOAL LATE IN THE THIRD PERIOD TO UPEND RIVAL CHUIGIAK SATURDAY NIGHT 5-4 AT BEN BOEKE ARENA IN THE KHAR HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY GAME OF THE WEEK SERIES. TRISTAN AYOJIAK SCORED THE GAME WINNER, AND AARON JAMES BAGGED A HAT TRICK FOR THE WOLVES.
