UAA women’s BB #2 West Region, #5 national

Coming off a pair of victories over fellow regionally ranked opponents, the UAA women’s basketball team moved up to No. 2 in yesterday’s second official NCAA Div. II West Region rankings, which go toward determining NCAA Tournament qualification.
The nationally 5th-ranked Seawolves are joined in the regional rankings by fellow Great Northwest Athletic Conference programs Northwest Nazarene at No. 5, Western Washington at No. 7 and Simon Fraser at No. 9.

AND THE SEAWOLVES WILL BE ON THE COURT TONIGHT IN MONMOUTH, OREGON, TAKING ON WESTERN OREGON. UAA NEEDS JUST A WIN TONIGHT OR SATURDAY AT CONCORDIA-PORTLAND TO CLINCH THE GNAC TITLE OURIGHT FOR THE FIFTH TIME IN SIX YEARS. UAA COMES INTO THE CONTEST AT 27-2 OVERALL, 17-1 IN THE GNAC. WESTERN HAS STRUGGLED, COMING IN AT 2-16 IN LEAGUE PLAY.

 

THE UAA MEN ARE ALSO AT WESTERN OREGON TONIGHT, WITH BOTH TEAMS FIGHTING FOR A GNAC PLAYOFF SPOT. BOTH TEAMS ARE 11-7 IN LEAGUE PLAY. WITH A WIN, UAA IS IN. THE SEAWOLVES HAVE WON THEIR LAST FOUR GAMES…WESTERN OREGON HAS WON FOUR OF ITS LAST FIVE AND SEVEN OF ITS LAST NINE GAMES.

BOTH THE UAA MEN AND WOMEN WILL NEXT PLAY SATURDAY AT CONCORDIA-PORTLAND.
