THE NUMBER SEVEN RANKED UAA WOMEN TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS BY DOWNING NORTHWEST NAZARENE 73=58 TO TAKE OVER FIRST PLACE IN THE GREAT NORTHWEST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE. TENNAE VOLIVA LED THE WAY WITH A CAREER-HIGH 19 POINTS AND 12 REBOUNDS FOR THE SEAWOLVES, WHO HAVE WON 11 STRAIGHT GAMES, 22 STRAIGHT AT THE ALASKA AIRLINES CENTER, 25 STRAIGHT IN THE GNAC, AND 34 STRAIGHT GNAC HOME GAMES. NEXT UP, A GAME TUESDAY NIGHT AT RIVAL FAIRBANKS.

THE UAA MEN MEANWHILE GOT A BIG SHOOTING GAME FROM SENIOR JACK MCDONALD IN AN 81-66 VICTORY OVER SIMON FRASER. MCDONALD WAS NEARLY FLAWLESS SHOOTING THE BALL, SCORING 17 POINTS ON 6 FOR 6 FROM THE FIELD INCLUDING 5 THREE-POINTERS. CENTER OGGIE PANTOVIC ADDED 16 POINTS. THE UAA MEN ARE ON THE ROAD THIS WEEK, PLAYING AT CENTRAL WASHINGTON THURSDAY.

 

THE UAA HOCKEY TEAM DROPPED A PAIR OF GAMES AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN, LOSING 4-1 FRIDAY AND 6-3 SATURDAY. THE SEAWOLVES RETURN HOME FOR GAMES AGAINST ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT THE SEAWOLF SPORTS CENTER.

 

UAA GYMNASTICS, AFTER A TRI-MEET WIN FRIDAY, LOST A DUAL MEET YESTERDAY TO SOUTHEAST MISSOURI. THE SEAWOLVES ARE HOME AGAIN THIS SATURDAY AGAINST SAN JOSE STATE.
